Came here for an anniversary dinner with my husband and I've been wanting to come here for quite a long time but we live over an hour away. So when we had the chance to come, I knew this was the place to go! I met the executive Chef, Ernesto Antonia when I was going to culinary school and followed him on Instagram for years. He came out to talk to us after we got seated and it was truly a pleasure to eat here. Our host for the evening was fantastic. He explained the menu and how a lot of things were grown in their garden next to the restaurant. We started with bread, thinly sliced eggplant wrapped around buffalo mozzarella and sprinkled with chili oil. It was SO good. Then the garden salad came out and then a lemon sorbet to help cleanse the palate. I ordered the scallops over truffle risotto with a red pepper puree (Capasante) and my husband had the short rib braised pasta pillows (Agnolotti Piedmontese) and everything was divine! They brought us a really wonderful cake to end our meal and wrote "Happy Anniversary." The ambiance was wonderful, the food was absolutely amazing and we are definitely coming back to try the lasagne (which we heard alot about) and some of the other items that sounded delicious!

Amazing service! The vegetarian lasagna is amazing and the steak was even better Our server was very knowledgeable on the various menu options and made sure our experience was a great one!

This was a fantastic experience all the way around. I had reservations and was running late due to traffic and construction. I recieved a call from the restaurant and they kept my reservation. Upon arrival we were greeted and seated in a beautiful corner booth. The service just went up. It was wonderful. The wine and water service was on point. The food was so delicious. I was so surprised at the number of vegan dishes that were available. It is definitely a place to return to.

Café Cortina is a great place for an upscale, private dinner party or small celebration. The food is mostly Italian. Service is fantastic, with attention to lots of details. Pollo (chicken) lacked flavor - felt it was highly overpriced for no sauce or flavor and slightly dry, but nice presentation. They are excellent about catering to your dietary needs like GF, DF, etc. They have a handful of vegan dishes and they are great about changing out ingredients that don't suite you. The steaks were good, veggies were well done and ambiance dimly lit with soft lighting and candles - appropriate for a nice dinner. I was expecting to be more "wowed" for the price, but those being celebrated were happy. So, maybe I just have too high of expectations.

Cafe Cortina is the nicest restaurant around, first class all the way. There is a comfortable feel when you enter. The food is amazing and only the freshest ingredients available are used. The hand made ravioli is exceptional and one of my favorites. Actually everything is my favorite. They have an incredible wait staff that will always take care of whatever you need. During the summer the outdoor patio is available to have a cocktail and appetizers or dinner if you prefer. This space takes you away from all of the stresses of the day and puts you in a zen state. Remember this is a first class place and can cost a bit more but everything is worth it.

Great food, excellent chef, wonderful service. A little pricey, but the quality of the dish able to justify the cost.

Cafe Cortina is an excellent fine-dining Italian restaurant in Farmington Hills and it's truly a hidden gem. It was on my bucket list for a long time and I finally made it there for dinner last night. There are not a ton of fine dining options in Farmington Hills and I hardly ever give 5-star reviews, but Cafe Cortina did NOT disappoint! The whole restaurant is lovely and has an old-school feel, but the back patio is particularly beautiful (I highly recommend sitting outside if weather permits). Most of the staff speaks Italian and they were all super attentive and friendly. The food was out-of-this-world incredible. Everything from the bread to the salad to the entrees was perfect. There is something for everyone on the menu - there are even vegan options! I ordered the vegetarian tortelloni and it was so, so, so good. My companion ordered a pasta dish with shrimp and he said it was also excellent. Sadly, we were too full for dessert! The only downside I can think of is that Cafe Cortina is quite expensive. Definitely a place to celebrate special occasions versus an every day choice. I can't wait to return!

I had a good time at Cafe Cortina! We had a big group, about 18 of us for a celebration. They were able to accommodate but had to separate our group into two. Because of that, the second group had to wait 30 minutes before ordering. It ended up being fine for us, but know that could be an issue for other people. It was a Wednesday night when we went with the group, but they still had a full restaurant, which says a lot about the food. Speaking of food.. everything was great. You can tell it's made fresh. They have lots of options that anyone would like. The hazelnut ice cream slaps!! It is so good! Would definitely reco that with the espresso! The waitstaff was also extremely friendly! We had great service. Everyone there also seemed to speak Italian, which was a riot for our big Italian group. The only thing I'd change was being able to all order entrees and desserts together but also realize we were a big group and they had other people at the restaurant too.
